Here at Banana Moon West Brom our Full Moons children have been getting involved with a Local authority scheme called Brilliant Brushers!

With the support of one of the Oral Health Team from Sandwell some of our staff received training on how to promote good oral health with our 3+ year olds.

The Local Authority scheme provided each child with a toothbrush and toothpaste for nursery and the children are then supported to brush their teeth at nursery after mealtimes. Whilst brushing their teeth the staff support children to understand the importance of brushing their teeth to keep them healthy and strong, and teach the children about good toothbrushing techniques as well as having the social aspect of learning with their friends!

The scheme also then provided a set of a toothbrush and toothpaste for all the children participating to take home. 

Parents have been commenting how this has helped their children to be more responsible and independent when brushing their teeth and how they have enjoyed participating in the scheme!
